Get a Desk Fan

Do you know what is worse than working at a job you really hate but need to pay your bills? Working at a job you hate that is also hot. If you have ever worked in an environment where there is a lot of people, such as on a customer service floor, and the air conditioner isn't working or only works on one side of the room, then you know that it can get quite hot. You would think that all companies would care or at least provide you with a desk fan, but that isn't always then case. So what do you do? You find a new job! Okay, maybe that isn't possible for the time being but the least you can do is get yourself a mini desk fan. Let's look at where you can get one for a cheap price as well as some that look cool.

The best place to look for these desk fans is online since you'll be able to quickly scan the different types that are offered as well as compare prices. You can usually find one for under $15. They come in different sizes, colors, and have different functions like 2 speed and 3 speed. Some just blow in one direction while others are oscillating fans. You will want to find one that is the right size for your desk. You may want one to use at home. If this is the case and space isn't much of an issue, then I recommend getting a bigger one rather than the small mini ones since they don't do a very good job on those really hot days.

Now if you work in a place where you aren't allowed to plug anything in do to fire hazards, yes, those companies exist, then you will need to get an USB desk fan. These are normally a little bit weaker but they do the job. Some companies will not want you to have anything that will make any noise so you'll want to look for a quiet desk fan, or at least one that is quiet as possible. Even those tiny fans with bendable plastic blades that hooks onto your computer can make some noise. You can also get one that has that little spray that sprays a bit of mist on your face to help cool you down.

Bring in the Desk Fan

If you're stuck in a job where you aren't even allowed to bring a fan to help you cool down during work, then seriously, you need to either bring it up with your boss or find another job. I know these jobs/companies exist because I have worked for one. The summers are hot, the winters are freezing, yet they expect you to give them 100%. Fortunately, I found myself out of that job. Looking back, maybe it wasn't as bad as I made it out to be but hey, if you can't even have a desk fan, then I say start your own business and surround yourself with fans. I guess an air conditioner would be a better choice though.
